DISTANCE: 36 miles

ELEVATION GAIN: 912 feet

FORECAST: 50 DEGREES, partly cloudy, with light winds from the northeast @12 mph.

Overview: This is a variation from our traditional Lighthouse Ride around the northern elements of Cape Ann. While the longer route will take in one of the Gloucester lighthouses, this route will showcase some of the charms of North Shore towns and villages. On display will also be some of the new bike infrastructure of these communities.

Although this route only features about 30 feet of climbing per mile, the rolling hills and wind can prove challenging for an early spring outing. Fortunately, both groups will return with a tailwind. Note Routes are subject to edits.

Parking: The commercial district can be crowded. Please park in the Roundhouse Road lot, around the corner from Marblehead Cycle.

Rest Stop: Both routes will stop briefly at Honeycomb Bakery in Hamilton! Pre and post ride snacks and libations will be provided.

Registration: While there is no charge, all riders must register and sign a waiver. Riders may register on the day of the ride on site. Visit: https://www.bikereg.com/best-buddies-cape-ann-classic
